Telana was contracted by a global business services customer employing 30k people to provide a new Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) solution using PowerPlatform, underpinning the portfolio and programme delivery.

The customer needed a PPM solution that integrated with existing Microsoft Dataverse and PowerPlatform tools to enable stakeholders to stay up-to-date with projects and resource alignment, optimize workloads, and streamline resources.

The Solution

Telana successfully delivered a new Project & Portfolio Management (PPM) solution, integrating with their existing Microsoft Dataverse and Power Platform tools. The solution provides a framework for portfolio, programme, and project hierarchies, user management, and plan management. Telana leveraged out-of-the-box SharePoint functionality, extended with custom content types and Power Automate flows for processes like subsite creation and risk escalation. This approach demonstrated Telana’s ability to build a robust and secure PPM solution on existing platforms, ensuring efficient project oversight and resource optimisation.

The Outcomes

The project’s success is highlighted by several key outcomes:

  • The solution provided a low-level technical overview of architecture and flows, integrating with existing MS Dataverse and PowerPlatform capabilities.
  • A framework was provided for portfolio, programme, and project hierarchies, user group/profile implementation, and plan management.
